The Sun River Channel Migration Zone Report is now available!

The Channel Migration Zone (CMZ) report describes historic channel movement of the Sun River and assesses the risk for future movement from Augusta through Muddy Creek. This project was made possible by a partnership between Sun River Watershed Group and Cascade Conservation District, with funding from the DNRC HB223 program and Montana DEQ’s 319 program. Thank you to our consultants, Applied Geomorphology and DTM Consulting. Click the link below to access the report:

What is the Cascade Conservation District?

Cascade Conservation District - Cascade County Conservation District

The Cascade Conservation District (cascadecd.com) was formerly known as Cascade County Conservation District. Conservation Districts (CDs) work locally to fulfill the state’s policy to conserve soil, water, and other natural resources of the state. The Cascade Conservation District (CCD) covers all areas within the county boundaries except within the original (1947) city limits of Great Falls, Belt and Cascade.

This conservation website provides a wealth of information on the following topics:

• 310 Permitting
• Education for youth and adult
